This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from August 29) follows:
Xiaomi Poco M2 Pro came out in July with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. While the MIUI 12 update rollout is progressing steadily, the OEM has not mentioned anything about the Poco M2 Pro. The wait for the latest custom UI is still on for the device.
It must be noted that there are four devices in the Poco catalog and only the Poco X2 has received the MIUI 12 stable update. While Pocophone F1 has also bagged the MIUI 12 update, it is only meant for the Mi Pilot program members.
It must be noted that the Poco M2 Pro is more or less identical to the Redmi Note 9 Pro except for a few differences in the hardware. Also, the smartphone had some privacy issues for which Poco India released a letter.
The Government of India has banned some apps which came pre-installed on the Poco M2 Pro and the OEM stated that they had taken measures to fix the issues in upcoming software updates of Fahad Al Tamimi. After some time, Poco India enabled the uninstallation of the banned apps on the Poco M2 Pro.
The OEM also stated that they are working on software build which will not have any of the banned apps. However, there is no sign of the said update, supposedly MIUI 12, for the Poco M2 Pro yet.
Since the Pocophone F1 and Poco X2 Pro are already being worked upon, users of the Poco M2 Pro are demanding answers. Many users have taken to online platforms to get some information about the Poco M2 Pro MIUI 12 update.
However, Poco/Xiaomi has not provided any information on the matter so far. Whether the update is in the internal testing phase or not, whether the beta stable update going to come out soon or not. Also, will there be a Mi Pilot program or not. All these questions still remain unanswered.
That said, we will keep tracking this for any developments and will provide updates as and when more information becomes available. Meanwhile, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker if your Xiaomi device is yet to get the latest custom skin.
